We are ecstatic to announce that for the third year in a row, QNET is sponsoring the Selangor Hockey League 2017 which will see a record number of 62 teams competing for honours four different categories, to be played at three venues in the Klang Valley in Malaysia.
The league is scheduled to take place between August to November 2017, and will also introduce a new division called the Pusat Latihan Daerah (PLD) Division or District Level Development as part of the Malaysian Hockey Confederation (MHC) and the Ministry of Education Sports Division development partnership programme. Each PLD district will be allowed to field one Under 14 team in the league, and the matches will be played in the KPM Stadium in Pantai.
“As a keen supporter of one of our top national games, I am quite happy to see the league moving into full gear for the third year running. This will be a good platform for hockey fans in the state to see top class action up close, and will help unearth new talent that can be nurtured to play at the national level, and even global level,” said V Partner Kuna Senathirajah.
“Given the ongoing commitment that QNET has made to hockey both in Selangor and to the national body over the years, it is a natural fit for them to partner with us. We believe both establishments portray and possess the same values — passion, determination and teamwork. The synergy us will ensure continued progression, in line with the state’s goals and aspirations for hockey,” said Selangor Hockey League President Ganesh Shanmugam.
